Donations & FAQ

Please note: Donations must be in bags.

We take the following items: Men’s, Women’s, Kid’s clothing, bags, shoes, household items, knickknacks, and much more! We do NOT take furniture, simply because we do not have the room. If you have any questions on items or need help, give us a call.

You can bring donations in any time we’re open. Please refer to our hours. Park outside in front of the store for easiest method.

We are not a consignment store, we do not pay for clothing! Sorry.

We do provide a receipt with donations if you would like one, but we keep our records simple. You can always itemize the donation yourself and attach it to the slip we give you!

Frequently asked questions about donations

  • How do I donate my clothes?

Bring them in bags (like kitchen trash bags) and walk them in through the front door anytime we’re open! You can donate them on hangers, but still please bag them as we have to carry them downstairs and process them.

  • Will you buy my clothes?

No. We are not a consignment store. We are 100% donation based.

  • What do you take for donations?

We take all clothes, Women’s, Men’s, and Kid’s. We take more than clothes too! Bring us your small household items and knickknacks, shoes and bags, anything but furniture (we simply don’t have the space for it.)

Examples: Picture frames, Jewelry, Scarves, Mugs, Scrubs, Vintage, Home DƩcor, Vases, Unused bedding, and much much more.

  • I have a large donate and can’t carry it all in myself, what do I do?

For large donations, or people who need assistance bringing donations inside the store, give us a call before you plan to bring your items. We will be more than happy to come and help you carry in items.

  • Will you come to me and pick up a large donation?

Unfortunately we can not do that. We are a one shop operation and do not have the man power or resources to do pick ups. We can arrange for very large donations on trailers/trucks to be dropped off not at the front of the store. If you have an extremely large donation on a truck or trailer please give us a call.

  • Do you provide receipts with donations?

Yes! If you’d like a receipt for your donation we can provide that. We keep our records simple (ex: 2 bags of clothes) so if you need more detailed or itemized list you’ll need to do that yourself before dropping them off. You can attach your list to the receipt we give you for your records.

  • How is Wear connected to Daybreak?

All of Wear’s profits benefit the programs of Depaul USA, including Daybreak. That means every time you make a purchase here, that money goes to our community. As well as when you donate your clothes here, the money made from those donations!

We also have a system set up between us for those in need of clothing. They can go to Daybreak and get a voucher for Wear, and pick out the clothes they need free of charge.

  • What payments do you take?

We take cash, card, Apple Pay, any wireless pay on your phone we can take!

  • Does Wear have Gift Cards?

Yes! We have gift cards available for any amount you’d like. Just ask us at the register.

  • What’s your return policy?

We do not accept return, exchanges, or refunds.

Our team is sure to inspect every item before we put it on the floor for sale. We often price accordingly, but sometimes we miss them! Please be sure to examine your items before purchasing.
